London, UK. – November 9, 2015 – EuroSite Power™ Inc., (OTCQB: EUSP) an On-Site Utility™ solutions provider, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to healthcare, hospitality, housing and leisure centres in the United Kingdom (UK) and Europe has been selected as a finalist for a prestigious Association of Decentralized Energy (ADE) Innovation Award. ADE’s annual awards showcase innovation, best practice and achievements across combined heat and power, district heating and energy services in the UK. With seven categories (International and Integrated Energy, Innovation, Industrial and Commercial, Public Sector, Campus, Community and Residential and Champion), the ADE Annual Conference and Awards are the leading events for the CHP, district heating, energy services and community energy sectors in the UK, bringing together policy makers, opinion leaders and energy consumers for stimulating debate, political perspectives and industry insights. Now in their eighth year, the Awards provide an opportunity for organisations and professionals from across the growing sector to celebrate success and collective achievement in the industry.
EuroSite Power’s nomination in the Innovation category was based on its installation at Clifton Hospital. The combination of the Company’s On-Site Utility™ solution and flexible use of combined heat and power (CHP) technology allow the hospital to enjoy a fully funded, risk free solution to its energy, heating and cooling needs. Utilizing Tecogen® Inc.’s InVerde 100 kW natural gas CHP unit along with various other energy efficiency improvements, Clifton Hospital has reported a 55% reduction in imported electricity over the first 12 months of operation.
Part of the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Clifton Hospital is situated on the Fylde Coast in St. Anne’s. Built in 1988, the community hospital provides non-acute, rehabilitation and respite care for those with long-term conditions and has three 24-bed wards, mainly covering care for the elderly, and medical rehabilitation, as well as an out-patients department for rheumatology and dermatology. With up to 200 hospitals in the UK appropriate for this type of scheme, EuroSite Power is able to provide unprecedented cost efficiencies and green benefits for UK healthcare.
Paul Hamblyn, Managing Director of EuroSite Power, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award. We truly believe our On-Site Utility™ solution provides an innovative approach to energy and expense savings. The risk-free, immediate cost and carbon savings enjoyed by Clifton Hospital are a perfect example of the benefits of our On-Site Utility™ solutions, which we are looking to roll out to further healthcare customers, particularly within the NHS across the UK.”
