LONDON, UK. – March 20, 2013 – EuroSite Power (OTCQB: EUSP), a leading On-Site Utility, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to hospitality, healthcare, housing and leisure facilities, is now operating a 100kW combined heat and power (CHP) system at the world famous Wentworth Club.
Founded in 1924, Wentworth Club is a privately owned golf and country club in Virginia Water, Surrey, under an hour away from London. Near to Windsor Castle, it is surrounded by the Wentworth Estate – one of the most prestigious estates on the outskirts of London. Widely known for its associations with tournament golf, the headquarters of the PGA European Tour are located at the Club and each year it hosts the Tour's flagship BMW PGA Championship.
Under the terms of its fifteen year agreement, EuroSite Power has installed and is operating its new CHP system at the club’s Tennis & Health Club. The system will produce approximately 1.5 GWh of total energy per annum, while saving up to 235 tonnes of CO2, each year. Wentworth Club is only paying for the energy used at a guaranteed lower cost than that provided by normal utilities and has avoided all associated capital, installation and operating costs. Wentworth Club has also signed a further 15 year agreement with EuroSite Power to provide a similar CHP solution for its Clubhouse. Work on installing this system is currently underway.
On-Site Utility
EuroSite Power sells the energy produced from an onsite energy system to an individual property as an alternative to the outright sale of energy equipment. On-Site Utility customers only pay for the energy produced by the system and receive a guaranteed discount rate on the price of the energy. All system capital, installation, operating expenses and support are paid by EuroSite Power.
